ABOUT
Jessica Teaira Crawford is a New York City based costume designer for Stage, Film, Opera, and Dance. Being a native New Yorker from both Brooklyn and Spanish Harlem, Jessica has always been exposed to the rich culture and styles that the city has to offer and utilizes those experiences to create bold designs for stage and screen.
Jessica’s first exposure to costume design was through the cosplay community. After attending many conventions and teaching herself the basics of costume construction, Jessica decided that design was her true passion. Since then, Jessica has had the opportunity to work on multiple award winning theatrical design teams.
Jessica’s most recent design credits include Hair (Weston Theater Company), Lordes (The New Ohio Theater), and MSM’s upcoming production of The Fairy Queen. Select assistant credits include Champion (The Metropolitan Opera), White Girl In Danger (2nd Stage), and The Skin Of Our Teeth (Lincoln Center).
Jessica earned her BFA in Theater Design & Technology from Syracuse university and is a member of IATSE United Scenic Artists Local 829.
